Welcome to Spring

As usual, I don't have enough time to do all I want to do before I have to go do that thing I do to be able to (sort of/almost) afford to buy the pet toys I buy....so I'll tease you with a few pix and then come back later to share the stories that put them in context!
Well...I was going to type a little bit under each picture, but my program's being snarky so I'll just leave off now...

Nap Experts

We can learn so much from our pets...in so many areas. One area they universally excel at is napping. There is nothing like a good nap! And where, and how you position yourself is key.
Here Gwyn demonstrates the curled up in a ball nestled in your blanket variety:

Willow loves to sleep on what used to be my fuzzy robe...until it became her bed...it has to remain on the floor beside my nightstand. Periodically I wash it and fluff it properly and put it right back where she had it. This is where she sleeps at night, but she's not opposed to the occasional daytime nap there:

Is that a version of the pear-shaped goddess of mild annoyance look she's getting ready to shoot me?
But the master napper in this household is undoubtedly Oz. He finds all the best spots...it's not unusual for him to manage to crawl all the way under the covers for a daytime nap. The other day LoML called me back to the bedroom to show me this:
Neither one of us pulled the comforter over him....he made that nest all by himself. You'll note that's the surfing motif one I got LoML for Christmas (as modeled by Willow in an earlier post). The red throw is Oz' blanket that's sole purpose in being on the bed is for his comfort...it's amazingly soft.
We should all nap so well. They have the right idea! Shall I go to work now...or nap? Hmmm...........

Just to Make You Smile

I probably shared this one before...but that was a while ago. I don't have much time this morning to share a big long story so I thought I'd just pull out one of J. Frazz Photography's pix of Her Royal Goofiness.

The Eyes Have It

Why I love the drive-thru' car wash

It's tri-colored foam. It smells nice. You can pretend you're far, far away....

Not much spare time this week...or today, even, for that matter...Expect random miscellaneous posts...

Movie Night

LoML & I decided to watch a movie tonight. While I love snuggling up beside him, our love seat doesn't suit my back very well and so I tend to sit in my own chair over beside Gwyn's bed. Let's be honest here: that way I can also periodically stroke Gwyn's ears...or more recently she's taken to rolling over and roaching and letting me rub her belly. But I digress! Willow was being a bit restless tonight (something about the woeful lack of noms.) She did eventually settle down next to LoML on the love seat. To picture this properly you need to know that we try to imitate movie theatre settings and so watch movies (or TV in general) in the dark. Fortunately, I had my camera next to me. (This because I had gotten it out earlier in the hopes of capturing Gwyn curled in a ball with her tail perfectly aligned along her nose. Sadly, I missed that shot. I digress again.) I had glanced over several times to see Wil' just lying next to her daddy in a very modest sphinx pose. Then, I saw this:
Then this:
I didn't realize 'til I zoomed it that I caught the tongue! LoML says I might pay for posting this one, but I choose to believe she knows I just want to share her divaliciousness with her many admirers around the globe (who may feel compelled to send her noms! feel free!!).
Really...what else is there to say?

Just One Look

Ever noticed how someone can convey a world of meaning with just one look? It's not unique to people. All manner of animals can do this too. Today let's talk about cats. My bro'-in-law & sis'-in-law are the staff (albeit woefully inadequate [sorry guys! you know it's true!]) for one cat...Diva. (I now refer you to my 10/26/11 post That's Ms. Diva to You! for introductions.) Diva can throw a look that I'm pretty sure could turn you to stone if she wanted to. It's amazing. My SIL, a fabulous wordsmith who really needs to keep working on that novel, was describing one recent incident in an email and referred to her as a "pear-shaped goddess of wrath". It cracked me up. Very descriptive! No offense to Diva (who will probably still bite me if she's allowed to read this post) but Willow's too sweet to pull off the above-referenced look.
Surveying her domain
She has, though, at times, become the pear-shaped goddess of mild annoyance when her noms are not forthcoming at the direction of her majesty:
I really must train the staff better
