The Dog in Dog Gone Right

Gwyn was afraid you've forgotten what she looks like.
She's an incredibly sweet girl and loves her baby-kittehs very much....but she's been neglected here on the blog of late and it's high time there were some hound pix posted!
This is her in her sneaky-dog space....she likes to lie in a hole that she's dug so that she's about level with the top of the grass....there she can hunt rabbits & squirrels and hope they don't notice her.
Of course, sometimes she gets a bit sleepy there....

Happy Birthday Spike!

Today is the day we somewhat arbitrarily assigned as Spike's birthday (having been a rescue we don't know his exact birthday). Hard to believe he's two years old! For your entertainment I'm recycling a couple of early pix:

Hard Rock Atlanta

Before I tell you about my second July trip I'll close Atlanta with a few pix from the Hard Rock cafe. We ate lunch there one day. It was fun looking at all the memorabilia.

Atlanta part one

I don't do a great deal of traveling, but have been on two trips in July. The first was to Atlanta. Met up with friends and had a fabulous time. This was the view from our hotel balcony:
The view straight down:
Looking about, still from the balcony...

This is a shot straight up from the inside atrium in the hotel...it was quite spectacular. That's one of the glassed-in elevators heading up that you see in the lower left of the photo.

Cuteness...

This is how we fold towels:
Meanwhile, Spike, aka "Spaghetti Boy" appears to have only cartilage, no bones in his spine...this is a daily pose for him...

And today's wild horse baby pix:

Back

Yes, there's been another hiatus in the blogosphere for me. I have a new (and, I'm sorry to say, sad) perspective on that. For me, blogging has always been sporadic. It began, and still remains, primarily a venue for me to share pictures with family & friends and sometimes just to muse "out loud" about the wacky things that rattle around in my noggin. I realize that for people used to blogs with a regular posting schedule this method can be disturbing. But life happens. So be it.

A few weeks ago I was presented with yet another example of how fleeting this life is and how suddenly and unexpectedly it can end....an example in an unfamiliar format:  One of the blogs that I had been following was "Class A Greyhounds - RVing with the Big Dogs" written by Hazel Bluhm. I had discovered her blog through another blogger I follow and enjoyed reading about her travels and exchanging comments on each others' blogs. She even sent me a small gift in the mail one day....a pen that had her blog name on it. She was one of those bloggers who posted very regularly and would always pop in and comment when I posted something new. And then, suddenly, there was nothing. This wouldn't be unusual for me, but was quite startling for her blog. Sadly, it was weeks before I discovered through another blogger that Hazel had passed away. There's a nice tribute to her here: RVing: The USA is our BIG BACKYARD

So, on that note: go love on your family...including your furbabies!....

And I'll be back soon with new pix of some trips I've been on....just don't expect the schedule to be regular!
