A Matter of Perspective

Like in life, my photography is often a matter of perspective...
Sometimes I focus in on the "right" things...sometimes not...
By the way, have you ever heard a flock of ibis (ibises? ibis'?)? I think they sound like a bunch of little old men muttering to themselves.

Cape Lookout Lighthouse

This shot of Cape Lookout lighthouse was taken from the mainland. I'm *very* impressed with my 60x optical zoom! They're repainting the lighthouse. The day before this shot was taken this side that faces us on our island was totally white. Then this day they were almost done repainting the black diamonds. If you look closely on the right side of the lower diamond you can see one of the painters hanging off the side.

Spring Has Sprung

Know how I know?
The shedding. Oh, the shedding! This is all from one grooming session. And it wasn't even as thorough as it could have been...there was still lots of loose hair on her that I didn't get off. Looking forward to when it's warm enough to do a good bath.

Now for more eye close-ups:

Happy Birthday Solana!

My big, beautiful redhead turns 11 today!
Gentle & sweet...but with a goofy sense of humor...hard for me to believe it's been 11 years since I met that wee girl who struggled to peer over the stall door.
Love her to pieces!!!

Gulls

I like gulls. I know some people don't. But I do. I especially like taking pictures of them.
I'm still playing with the new camera.
Boy, howdy! Do I ever like it!

The end.

Back in Business

My sweet hubby, a/k/a LoveofMyLife (LoML for short), bought me a new camera for my birthday! I'll be posting more pix and telling all about it soon! This is straight out of the camera...only shrunk the file size for easy uploading.

Springing Back

Well, here I am again. I disappear from the blogosphere and then reappear again. There's just no predicting me!

There's been a lot going on here. I'm in the midst of a period of change--change which has meant a drastic reduction in stress, a new-found abundance of free time...you'd think that would mean more blog posts, but I've been feeling my way around this different experience and working on different projects. We'll see where it leads.

We certainly can't complain about winter weather compared to our northern neighbors, but it has been a roller-coaster winter here in coastal NC. We had an ice storm a week or so ago that left everything coated in ice and sparkling. The pictures don't really do it justice, but I thought I'd share a few.

Personally, I'm ready for warm weather and sunshine!

Gwyn's sweet boyfriend, Sammy, is hanging in there..tho' he's showing his age more and more.
