Pelicans!
I love pelicans. I imagine they're like pterodactyls must have been. They're so amazingly graceful when they're flying...and yet there's that moment when they hit the water with a huge splash that looks so out-of-control...
These aren't great pix as they were pretty far away. But I had fun watching them.
Maybe I'll get some better shots soon.

Fab photos. I agree about them looking like pterodactyls. Like most bigger birds landing seems ungainly:)

The first time I saw a flock flying, I thought it was a squadron of planes going overhead! Sure made an impression! Your photos are wonderful.
