More Working Dog Teasers

Okay, I don't know about you, but I've got so much going on here I don't know which way to turn! But I'm going to try to post at least six of the seven days per week, even if it's just one picture and a quick note! As the week progresses, I'll tell you about this...yesterday's teaser did not involve a new tv episode, but instead a local demonstration by some of our K-9s and their handlers. I took some pictures and some videos that I will be sharing as we go along.

And, lest you forget the newest ruler of the land:
Spike's still keeping tabs on everyone here!

Xander Photo Shoot

One of my best friends got married on Aug. 31st and I had the honor of being one of her bridesmaids. After the festivities I was trying to do a photo shoot of some of the pretty accessories...and, of course, I had help!

Why would you want pictures of stuff without me in them?

I don't think this clutch should have a chain on it...let me see if I can get that off for you.

What?! It was talking smack and must be silenced!

A nice background...

What's in here? Would I like it???

Long Drink of Water

Not really, it's an expression.

Okay, again, I need some feedback here. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think all little boy-kitties like to hang their heads down & let the blood rush to their heads. I know Xander does. A lot! He also trusts us to not let him fall. Take this pose for example:
This started out with him in LoML's lap. He gradually oozed over & down until this was accomplished. His front paws were about an inch off the floor. And he stayed like this long enough for me to go in the next room & get the camera (which, again, should be around my neck at all times when I'm in the house!). Incidentally, after I snapped a couple of pix, I cupped his little head in my hand and held him up that way for a bit and he just purred. Funny boy!

Enslaved by a Ginger Kitten

Even though I do believe I have entered a negative time zone wherein I have negative free time (not just no free time -- double negative much?) I still persist in reading five minutes here and there. One of my current reads is a delightful modern twist on a James Herriot-ish British vet tale called "Pets in a Pickle." I was reminded how much I love the Brits using the term "ginger" to describe red or red-brown hair. Having family in the UK just encourages my already strong anglophile tendencies. But I digress.

His Highness' conquest of his known universe appears complete. It's difficult for me to blog much as when I take a few minutes to sit at the computer I am interrupted countless times because that means I'm neither feeding nor entertaining him! Yesterday he managed to run Willow off her favorite refuge (a soft towel formerly Gwyn's that now stays on the dining room table [well it's not like we actually eat there!]) and then later take over Gwyn's bed:
Just more of the everyday cuteness

My blankie!

I must bite you!

Wait! Why'd you leave?!

It's okay. I'll just sleep on the floor.

Really?! You expect me to caption this?!?!

I can't type any more as a certain ginger kitten is climbing on me like a swing set and biting various computer cords. Later....

Wordless Thursday

('coz time's just not at an excess right now!)
Why, no, I don't know how your shoe got in my cube!

Objects in picture are not as close as they appear

Would you like an extreme close-up of me???

Pack Update

So, you wonder, how are the girls adjusting to the arrival of His Royal Wildness?
There's a lot of approach & retreat...we're slowly figuring things out...but then we have to nap!

Here's a fun little series from yesterday:
We had a hound-kitten encounter in our home office...
It went okay. Xander really has no fear, but will approach and retreat as kittens do. We have cat doors on many of our interior doors to allow for cats to come and go (heaven forbid you exclude a cat from anywhere!) but keep hounds out of trouble..
Xander shut the door on Gwyn!
She wasn't too sure about that...as soon as I opened it up he had to saunter past her!
With a little swat for good measure!
Never a dull moment :D

The Horror!

Bad enough that my blog has "dog" in the title, and generally has something to do with dogs in one way or another...but today is a momentous day...that's right: It's Oz & Willow's 12th birthday!!! And who (whom?) should be pictured bright and early this morning??? Gwyn! That blog hog! We are not amused!
We look all cute & cuddly, but actually you caught us in the middle of plotting to take over the world. We would have already done it if only we had opposable thumbs!

We weren't sleeping!
Did you at least bring home birthday noms?
