Mya went to the beach the other day with a friend and her mommy gave me these pictures. Doesn't it look like they're having a wonderful time?
Of course, they tired themselves out and had to rest in the shade. Poor tired puppies!
Are you talkin' to me???

Memorial Day
First, and foremost: Please take some time today to contemplate all the sacrifices our servicemen and -women have made and are making on our behalf. If you know anyone in the service thank them personally today. Thank them for all of us!
And now, because it's that time of year again, I share with you some pictures from our boating trip on Saturday. It was lovely out at the Cape.
A surfer contemplates the waves:
A plane flies overhead:
Okay, so now I'm playing with photo-editing...
What do you think of black-and-white?
Have a wonderful day!

Then...and Now
Feeling nostalgic this morning...here's a look at my sweet mare on day one. Yup. That's baby Solana just a few hours old with Nottea, her mom. She was all legs! And here she is in the pasture just one week old. Ready to play.
And this...this is one of my all-time favorite pictures of Solana. She's just under two weeks old and stretching to look out at me. I think it captures the curiosity and playfulness she's displayed from day one. She's always wanted to be involved in everything!
And here she is today. Well, last week anyway. Words can't express how relieved I am that she's come through the colic episode okay.

Let Sleeping Dogs Lie
You know how disturbing it is when you're trying to sleep and you just get the feeling that someone is watching you?
It's sometimes tough for a girl to get her beauty rest!
What?!? What is it you need?? I'm trying to rest here!!!
Oh, good grief! I'm going back to sleep.
This beauty is Mya. You first met her here on July 30, 2008 when I told you that she'd found her forever home with my friend. She's growing into quite the beautiful young lady....with, perhaps, a bit of a diva attitude (divatude?!).

Dream in the Clouds
Turns out, the Solana scare was not over on Thursday morning like I first thought. She got worse. Had to have the vet out twice and spent two nights in the barn with her...she's finally better now, but be assured we'll continue to keep a very close eye on her.
I'm still recuperating from the stress and lack of sleep, but yesterday when I was able to just relax a bit and watch her grazing about normally in her pasture I took a few cloud shots. Just thought I'd share.

More Trampoline Art & a Solana Scare
Another installment of baby goat playing on the human trampoline. I was going to give you this front shot, followed by the rear shot (as she launched back off of me)...but then I decided that it may, in fact, be a bit graphic for this site as it shows the little rear in all its glory ;DHere's a head shot of my sweet Solana that was taken fairly recently... She gave me a scare last night, as she decided to maybe colic. Fortunately, her symptoms were noticed early, she was given some medicine and TLC and seems to have bounced right back. On a related note, I'll tell you that she just glistens in the moonlight ;D I wished last night that I had the appropriate camera and lens to capture her that setting...maybe some day.
