Did you know that horses have great imaginations? No? It's true. They do. They usually imagine horse-eating monsters.
Horses are only afraid of two things...
...things that move, and things that don't!

Morning Laugh
Today is going to be a multiple-posting kind of day. We'll begin with another funny video...I saw this on one of the morning shows this morning and it makes me laugh. Check out that happy tail thumping!
**Updated as first video was taken down...apparently it was posted by someone without permission. Hope this is the correct one as it's really super cute.

"Throw It!! Throw It!!!"
Tomorrow I'll get back to some more regular posting. For now, I leave you with this amusing video of a dog trying to get the very quiet stranger to throw his stick with him:

RAK cat
So I belong to this ebay community group Random Acts of Kindness (RAK) where besides chatting online about everything from crafting to pets to general life stuff, we sometimes exchange cards and little gifts.
Earlier this year I got a Sizzix embossing machine and have been having fun making cards and experimenting with different papers, embellishments, etc.
I recently made this card for my RAK pal...but you need to understand that these things can't be done without proper supervision.

Fruit Run
Under the category of Gwyndiculousness, allow me to share one of Gwyn's favorite summer games: playing with pears! We have a pear tree in the back yard. We've never actually eaten any of the pairs from it....but Gwyn has. :D She discovered this game last year. The first time she did it, I had to Google to make sure that pears weren't toxic for dogs! They make wonderful toys....you can do zoomies around the yard with them, and then lie down and eat them at the end!
I know that some of the pears that have become hound toys have fallen off the tree prematurely, but I have a strong suspicion that some of them have had a little help!

Wil'
My dear, sweet Willow! She needed a little face time. She's such a darling girl and so put upon! She doesn't complain that the goofy hound and The Orange Menace monopolize the blog! But she thinks it would be nice if you remember she's here. Looking divalicious. And maybe you could send some noms!

Saddle Love
So, not to overstate the obvious, but when it comes to riding, there are *tons* of options out there for what sort of saddle to ride in. I've been riding Solana in a leather Western reining saddle. It's a very comfortable saddle for me...but weighs a lot, and I recently realized it just wasn't fitting her properly. Many people are turning to synthetic saddles these days. They're lightweight, easy to clean, and it doesn't matter if you get caught out in the rain. I was getting ready to order a synthetic Western saddle, but then started considering...
...and settled on a Wintec synthetic Aussie stock saddle. I LOVE IT!
Lightweight. Comfortable. Looks good. Fits good.
Wintec uses some nice technology to make their saddles comfortable for the horse as well as the rider and to make these saddles easily adjustable. The Aussie stock saddle combines some nice features from both English and Western....designed for Aussies to ride and work cattle all day in the outback, they knew a few things about what they were doing!
We went on a trail ride yesterday. I would have taken pictures, but I was having too much fun! :D

Cape Shots
Forgive me for taking the weekend off...plenty going on, and needed some down time. Wish I could take a bit more, but it's back to the grindstone! Before I get underway for the work week I'll share with you some pix I took on the 4th at one of my favorite locales...too much fun to just grab the camera and start snapping...sometimes indulging my fondness for different angles, approaches...

Toy Thief
This is the face of a thief! A toy thief! She may look innocent...guileless, in fact....but looks can be deceiving.
On a recent trip into PetSmart I saw a stuffed toy turtle that I just "had" to buy for my girlfriend's dog, Abby. My friend recently moved to Iowa for a number of months and I thought it would be nice for a 'care package.' But I hadn't made it to the post office yet. Silly me had dropped the toy into a bag that contained some of my crafting supplies. While getting ready for work, I suddenly heard a very enthusiastic squeaking coming from the living room. What's this? It doesn't sound like the fox (Gwyn's previously-favorite toy!)! Sure enough, the sneakyhound had *very* *quietly* stuck her sneakysnout into my bag and removed the toy! (My fault for leaving said bag on the floor by the couch...) She was having so much fun, I couldn't deny her...plus she'd already slobbered on it. (Gwyn would like me to note here that greyhounds are regal animals and NEVER slobber!) At any rate, I did have to take it away for about 18 seconds so that I could remove the tags before returning it to her....that's what the top picture is...her expression waiting for me to return it.
Gwyn likes turtles! ;D (Maybe not as much as Buster, but that's a story for another day.)

I'm tired from playing, but I'm not gonna' let Turtle go! |
This was actually taken before I could get away to take the tags off. |
